Sebastian Buemi

#1

DOB : 31 / 10 / 1988

Sebastian Buemi has had an incredible year this year with an outstanding performance in the formula3 euro series and has recently joined the coveted ART drive for GP2, towards the end of this years season.

Another young driver who grew up in the ranks of karting and then later joined the German Formula BMW then onto Spanish Formula 3 whilst also having a good go at the A1 GP towards the end of the 2007 season.

Nico Hülkenberg

#2

DOB : 19 / 08 / 1987

Hülkenberg is an amazing young talent, fresh from Germany. He joined the German A1 Grand Prix team for the 2006-07 season. Nine wins in his rookie season made him the most successful driver in A1GP history. It meant he almost single-handedly won Germany the championship with 128 points, 35 more than Team New Zealand.

For 2007 he switched to the F3 Euroseries with the ASM team that had taken Lewis Hamilton and Paul di Resta to the last two championships.

Hülkenberg is currently managed by Willi Weber, the long-time manager of Michael Schumacher. Weber has gone on record saying that Hülkenberg would be ready for Formula One by 2008. A true talent to watch out for in the very near future.

Bruno Senna

#3

DOB : 15 / 10 / 1983

Bruno Senna has had a much harder season for 2007 in GP2, but has still bought some promising hope along with him, his name is of course familiar with being the nephew of Ayrton Senna. When leaving McLaren at the end of 1993, Ayrton Senna had said: "If you think I'm good, just wait until you see my nephew Bruno”.

Bruno grew up karting along side his late uncle, a great starting ground for any driver. In 2005, after just five races in British Formula BMW and Formula Renault he moved on to the British Formula Three championship. His results included three podium finishes in the last seven races of the season.

In 2006 Senna managed to finish 3rd in the British F3 series racing for Kimi Räikkönen’s own F3 team. Formula 1 is beckoning.

Markus Winckelhock

#4

DOB : 13 / 06 / 1980

Markus Winkelhock made his name in his debut F1 race by leading the field at the start of the race after starting from the pits on intermediate tyres. The race was restarted after being called off and he managed to start the race from pole position, winckelhock managed to break a few records on his debut.

Spyker carried on using Sakon Yamamoto for the rest of the season though, but we all think that the courage shown in his debut race should be rewarded with a seat with somebody in the future.

His father Manfred and uncle Joachim were also former F1 drivers and began his career karting then moving onto Formula3 euro series for three seasons then turning to DTM afterwards.

Christian Albers

#5

DOB : 16 / 04 / 1979

Christijan Albers has been the leader of the backfield for years now racing for Spyker, MidlandF1 and Minardi. A great CV for any driver as there is always as much a battle at the back of the grid as the front. Albers showed strength throughout all his races, even when the car he has beneath him has sometimes let him down.

Before his strong three year F1 career, Albers was a big name in DTM touring cars and also raced in the German Formula 3 for a couple of seasons. A well trained racing driver which shows in some of the results he has pulled out in the past.

Nelson Piquet Jnr

#7

DOB : 25 / 07 / 1985

Nelson Piquet Jnr is a now well established test driver for the Renault team and came from a great year in the GP2 series in 2006 where he managed to finish second. He also had a taste of the first A1 GP series and previous to that spent another year in GP2.

The name sounds familiar of course, due to his father being a huge name in the history of F1. His father has helped him along every step of the way through his career. From the South African Formula 3 championships through to two years at British F3 all under the banner of Piquet Sports (a family run team).

Adam Carrol

#8

DOB : 26 / 10 / 1982

Adam Carroll did a tremendous job this year in GP2. His win round the famous streets of Monaco is understandably the highlight of his career so far, but he hopes he can surpass even that very soon.

He started racing karts at the age of nine but his first big break came seven years later when he won the Elf Fast track Competition - gaining a scholarship to the Elf La Filiere Motorsport Academy in Le Mans, France. In 2004 he battled in the coveted British F3 championship, a series which has been won by greats such as Ayrton Senna and Mika Hakkinen. It was a thrilling season with the championship going down to the last round.

In 2004 Adam was picked from 15 of the world’s top young drivers by BAR Honda F1 team, now Honda Racing F1. Several F1 tests have helped Adam have a taste of his dream and nurture his talents.

Scott Speed

#9

DOB : 24 / 01 / 1983

Scott Speed has now left F1 to race in stock cars in the US. We at myF1dream.com think that we should pull him back into F1 for his courage shown throughout his career.

Speed had worked his way through the ranks including a season in British Formula 3, the breeding ground for many F1 drivers and was signed up to the Red Bull drivers scheme.

When Red Bull bought out Minardi they renamed the team to Scuderia Toro Rosso, using the previous seasons Ferrari engine. Speed had some excellent races for the team but was sadly elbowed out in the 2007 season.

Timo Glock

#10

DOB : 10 / 03 / 1982

Timo Glock is already well on his way to gaining recognition in F1 and has already made a signing with BMW as their main test driver. All of this comes after an amazing year in GP2 which saw him take the crown for the 2007 season.

Glock has a long history in motorsport and came 7th in the Canadian GP after the disqualification of Toyota and Williams and had three more races at the end of that season for the Jordon team.

Glock has also had a go at the champ car series in the US and finished 8th for that season and went on to collect the Champ Car World Series Rookie of the Year honours. Before all of this madness he made a name for himself in the German Formula 3 series and the junior Formula BMW series.
