Oxfam International is an international group of independent non-governmental organizations dedicated to fighting poverty and related injustice around the world. The Oxfams work together internationally to achieve greater impact by their collective efforts.

Oxfam believes that poverty and powerlessness are avoidable and can be eliminated by human action and political will. Basic human needs and rights can be met. These include the rights to a sustainable livelihood, and the rights and capacities to participate in societies and make positive changes to people's lives.

Inequalities can be significantly reduced both between rich and poor nations and within nations. Peace and substantial arms reduction are essential conditions for development.

UNICEF helps children receive the support, health care and education they need to survive the threats of childhood poverty - such as preventable disease or malnutrition - and grow up to become healthy adults.

UNICEF encourages families to educate girls as well as boys, so both men and women can play a full role in family life and broader society.

UNICEF strive to protect children from violence and abuse, and from exploitation through child labour or trafficking. We also protect children in the midst of war and natural disasters, and provide emergency assistance, usually within 48 hours.

Best known as the world\'s leading conservation body, they have seen first-hand how wildlife, the environment and human activity are all interlinked.

That’s why their passion for safeguarding the natural world has to be backed up by other environmental action – tackling the global threat of climate change (through their big global campaigns like Earth Hour) and helping people to change the way they live to ease pressure on natural resources.

The ICRC is an independent, neutral organization ensuring humanitarian protection and assistance for victims of war and armed violence.

The ICRC has a permanent mandate under international law to take impartial action for prisoners, the wounded and sick, and civilians affected by conflict.

With its HQ in Geneva, Switzerland, the ICRC is based in around 80 countries and has a total of more than 12,000 staff.

In situations of conflict the ICRC coordinates the response by national Red Cross and Red Crescent societies and their International Federation.

Save the Children is the leading, independent organization creating lasting change for children in need in the United States and around the world.

They are a member of the International Save the Children Alliance, comprising 27 national Save the Children organizations working in more than 120 countries to ensure the well-being of children.

War Child works with children affected by war in Iraq, Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. They work with children who have been hit hardest by the joint forces of poverty, conflict and social exclusion.

Their groundbreaking work with former child soldiers, street children and children in prison has supported and helped thousands who would otherwise not have been able to reintegrate with their community, gain access to education or enjoy sustainable livelihood support

ACET is a practical and compassionate response to HIV AIDS and works to support the rapidly growing ACET International Alliance. The Alliance is a group of independent organisations around the world working to reduce the rates of new HIV infections, care for those affected by HIV AIDS and support AIDS orphans.

ACET was founded in the UK in 1988 by Dr Patrick Dixon, Today you will find independent ACET programmes in 23 nations, all working together to tackle HIV and AIDS.

Feed The Children is an international, nonprofit relief organization with headquarters in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, that delivers food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to individuals, children and families who lack these essentials due to famine, war, poverty, or natural disaster.

During our 30-year history, Feed The Children has grown into one of the world\'s largest private organizations dedicated to helping hungry and hurting people. Last year, Feed The Children shipped 135 million pounds of food and other essentials to children and families in all 50 states and in 32 foreign countries, supplementing almost 800,000 meals a day worldwide.

Since our founding in 1979 by Larry and Frances Jones, Feed The Children has reached out to help children and families in 118 countries around the globe.

CARE tackles underlying causes of poverty so that people can become self-sufficient. Recognizing that women and children suffer disproportionately from poverty, CARE places special emphasis on working with women to create permanent social change.

Women are at the heart of CARE\'s community-based efforts to improve basic education, prevent the spread of HIV, increase access to clean water and sanitation, expand economic opportunity and protect natural resources.

CARE also delivers emergency aid to survivors of war and natural disasters, and helps people rebuild their lives.

SOS Children\'s Villages is active in 132 countries and territories worldwide. The variety of this international work is brought together by the umbrella organisation SOS-Kinderdorf International, which unites all of the autonomous national associations.

In all countries where SOS Children\'s Villages operates, the aim is to form a national association which is its own legal entity, with its own statutes and Board of Directors.

Common for all of them is membership of the international umbrella association, and the fact that their Board of Directors work on an honorary basis.

Each member association has to comply with the international statutes and principles for education and child-care of SOS-Kinderdorf International, and for financial and administrative practices.
